Erin has always been in love with taking pictures from her very first ones of the family dogs at age 8 with her little Mickey Mouse 110 camera. Even then Erin knew that natural light was her friend and to be used to her advantage. Another valuable lesson she learned way back then: never wait for the perfect moment to take your shot or you will never get it. She always has this instinct for knowing when an amazing moment is about to happen, allowing herself to fade into the background and just sit back with her camera at the ready to take the picture. She never fails to deliver images that put you right back in the moment, feeling exactly how you did in the instant that image was captured.

Erin Taylor Photography was founded in January 2003 as a small promotional photography company working with local bands. However, it wasn't long before pictures she took of the star of a Texas-based Indie label, saw pictures she took of them at a recent performance and requested copies to post on their website. The band has recently gained sponsorship by Fender Guitars and forwarded some of these images to Fender as well. The images graced the Fender Artists spotlight page for several months until the band broke up and the sponsorship ended.

At the end of 2004, Erin was approached about doing her first wedding for the ex-girlfriend of one of her rockstar clients. Following that wedding there was no turning back. Erin has been shooting weddings as her main focus since that time.

Thanks to Erin's beginnings working with bands, her photography tends to lean toward a behind-the-scenes look with an emphasis on the drama, emotion and romance of the day. Her images typically feature dramatic lighting, bold colors and untraditional angles and points of view.
